Owner & CFO: Developed and maintained an 8-year strategic business plan. Exceeded all revenue goals and growth projections for 3 consecutive years. Serviced 17 clients in 3 states. Maintained client relations, prepared client presentations and managed multiple projects simultaneously. Drafted project proposals, consulting agreements and software services contracts. Managed 10 employees, conducted employee performance reviews, counseling and technical training. Interviewed, hired and terminated employees and contract programmers.
Project manager / senior consultant: Worked with client personnel to develop project specifications for a commercial order entry application. Participated in developing the project plan, prepared weekly status reports for upper management, facilitated brainstorming sessions, conducted project status meetings, developed and maintained project Gantt charts, supervised 2 software engineers and 3 consultants. Trained client personnel in structured database development techniques and procedures. Drafted design documents and developed critical order entry modules.
Product support consultant for American Tel-A-Systems, Inc. Performed international product support for a commercial order entry application. Provided network consulting and support for clients on Novell Netware 3.12, 4.01 and Netware Lite.
Network installation and maintenance specialist. Installed 3 Novell networks and 2 peer-to-peer networks. Provided network support and maintenance for 8 clients on Novell Netware 2.12, 3.11 and peer-to-peer networks.
Computer Course Instructor: Developed the computer education program for continuing education. Taught classes on topics ranging from operating systems to specific PC based applications. Level of instruction ranged from introductory to advanced.
Consultant: Assisted management with business and strategic planning. Assisted in-house personnel and consultants upgrading and expanding Novell LAN. Developed more efficient ways of utilizing existing printers through the use of network queues and remote printers. Assisted in the development of a network expansion plan involving multiple servers, remote locations and remote access.
Designed, developed and implemented a time and attendance system that provided automated input to in-house payroll and billing systems. The system accepted input from both keyboard or bar code reader and reduced time reporting tasks by 88%.
Contract programmer: Developed user interface for an imaging research project. Developed interface according to specifications drafted jointly by Mayo Foundation and Kodak.
